SOFIYA REZIDENS apartment

SOFIYA REZIDENS

Architect: Andrew Roy, Sergey Matvienko
Project Area: 38 sq.m.
Project Year: 05/2021 — 06/2021
Location: Kyiv, s.Sofiivska Borshchagovka, Ukraine

The apartment has a very small area of 38m2. We managed to place a fairly comfortable layout in this apartment. The apartment has a separate bed with wardrobes for clothes and linen. And this moment is very important in a small area.

The unique wall of which we divided the corridor and the bed, it uses cabinets on two sides. Open shelves help us to place decor and books. This creates variety and sets a certain rhythm.

The wardrobes in the corridor are quite functional, if we look we will see a separate place for outerwear, and below we have a shelf for shoes. On the left, we still have a wardrobe with 2 doors for storing seasonal clothes. In such a small apartment, a lot of storage space is organized, and this is very important.

Well, of course, bicycles that hang over sofas stand out in this apartment and these are the requirements of our area, because there was no other place for them. Many will say yes it is impractical and they will be right. But we had a request from a client to place bicycles, and I think we have successfully coped with this task. Especially with the space we had. In fact, there was no place to physically place bicycles and we decided to use them as a decorative element on the main wall, we also saved on the wall decoration itself, because bicycles will scratch it over time, and on a concrete wall this will add additional textures and naturalness.

Everyone probably paid attention to the original carpet that lies under the sofa, this element of Scandinavian interiors, it adds warmth to the legs and home comfort.

And now we will move on to the terrace or dining room, as you like, but in fact it is a loggia that has been turned into a dining area. A beautiful view from the windows of the city will delight the owners every day. Here you can enjoy sunsets and nature. The apartment is located high enough so the horizon is visible far away. Here we still have an interesting thing is how we used window sills. You can sit on them, play with children and place many things, such as living plants, because there will be enough light here. They can also be used as extra seating when you decide to throw a party or just invite guests.
